Translation is more than just converting words from one language to another. A text must be recreated so it reads as if it were originally written in the target language. This requires a deep understanding of the original style, tone, and register, as well as its purpose and context. I carefully select each phrase to respect the flow and logic of the text, regardless of the type of document.
The reader is central to my approach. Translation is not only about conveying a message but also about making it clear and appropriate for the intended audience. Depending on the text, this may involve adjusting sentence structures, clarifying cultural references, or selecting more precise terms without changing the original meaning. My goal is to provide the reader with a natural and cohesive experience.
To ensure accuracy and consistency, I use CAT tools such as SDL Trados 2024. These tools allow me to create reliable translation memories and termbases which are essential for long or complex projects. They also make it easy to work with clients on key terms and ensure that every word meets their exact requirements. All tools I use fully respect confidentiality.
Proofreading is always included at no additional cost. I also make sure that the original layout is preserved as much as possible, including structure, headings, tables, and images. My goal is to provide a final document that is ready for use, accurate, and fully aligned with expectations so that no further adjustments are required.
